Quick facts for selecting a dryer for Jerky:
Size: CDS dryers come in a wide range a wide range of sizes and configurations, starting with the all-electric Harvest Saver, our entry-level system, and progressing upward to the Klamath and McKenzie tray dryers. For very large applications, CDS offers the Santiam and Columbia dryers
High-density tray racks and dollies are an option for Jerky dryers. While many applications require significant spaces between trays, due to the products standing up off the tray, most jerky dryers can minimize the spaces between the trays. We offer high-density racks and dollies on all CDS dryers, which increase the overall square footage of the dryer significantly, without diminishing the dryer’s performance.
Sanitation: Easy to clean Stainless steel interiors are featured in every CDS dryer designed for Jerky. Food Grade lubricants are used, and even the door seals are NSF 51 approved.
Safety: The safe operation of a CDS dryer starts with the design phase, with high quality components, redundant safeguards on the machinery, and
Intensive training of the operators in not only required to maximize production but for the safe operation of the dryer as well.
Energy Efficiency: Direct fired gas heat is normally the least expensive source of heating. See the Energy Consumption Chart, for individual model energy estimates. Every model includes adjustable humidity controls that allow the operators to vary the volume of fresh air entering the dryer, and minimize energy consumption.
Consistency: The high air velocities, and thermostatic temperature controls allow CDS dryers to produce dried products in a consistent and uniform manner, with a minimum of operator attention.
Service after the Sale: CDS has a long and distinguished history, founded on service before, during, and after the sale. Most of our sales come from repeat business, and that only happens when the first dryer was a success.
