The CDS Kiln model # PKH-1 is an industrial kiln designed for use with logs, poles, and pilings. When used prior to, and in conjunction with a retort, a CDS kiln reduces the need for extensive green inventories, reduces the retort processing time, and reduces the volume of diluted chemical waste. By reducing the drying time from months to hours, a CDS Kiln eliminates the need for large air drying yards. Instead of locking up capital in inventory, operators of a CDS Kiln respond to customer needs quickly, and accurately without the cost of an large inventory.

By drying the product prior to treatment, the CDS Kiln reduces the process time spent in the retort. As the hot poles exit the kiln and enter the retort, the time spent previously heating, and driving off the last of the unwanted water, is now unnecessary. Shorter retort time means substantial cost savings. An invaluable side benefit of the CDS Kiln is the reduction of diluted chemical waste produced when excessive moisture from the wet logs mixes with the injected preservatives inside the retort.
